Why Focus on Computer Graphics?

Computer graphics begins with a moment of wonder: an image that catches your eye and makes you ask, “How is this possible?” From that first spark, you are led into a world of fascinating mathematics, where geometry, light, motion, and patterns reveal deep ideas in a concrete and beautiful way.

In his book Sapiens, Yuval Noah Harari argues that our ability to believe in shared fictions is what makes Homo sapiens exceptional. I agree, but for me science and mathematics hold a special place in that world of social fictions such as religions, economies, and legal entities. They help us remain rational despite our natural tendency to treat non-existent things as if they were real.
